Kevin Brooks, Program Director and Ice Skills

As
a native of Stow, MA, Brooks began his high school
hockey at St. Johns of Shrewsbury. He then moved onto
prep school hockey at Lawrence Academy in the
Independent School League, where he led the league in
scoring during his senior year while winning a
championship. He was voted to the all-league team during
both his senior and junior years.
After
high school, Brooks headed out west to play in the
USHL for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. In his first
campaign with the team, he was 2nd on the team in
scoring, 3rd in penalty minutes, and voted "Rookie
of the Year". In his second year, he represented the
RoughRiders as team captain and was voted "fan
favorite". His hard work earned him a scholarship to
Providence College. After one season at Providence,
Brooks transferred to Curry College in Milton, MA.
His sophomore season as a Colonel helped the program
earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Div III nationals
and was voted assistant captain.
However, due to injury, Brooks was
forced to retire. Most recently Kevin has coached
the Walpole Express Junior A and B teams. During his
two year span the Junior B team was ranked number 2
in the country and the Walpole Express won the
college award for placing the most players in
college. During the past two years Brooks has also
worked as Director for RBHockey.
Brooks currently resides in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa with his wife Kathy where he is the
Director of Hockey for the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena as
well as the assistant coach for the Cedar Rapids
Roughriders(USHL).

Mark
Mullen is a current NHL Scout for the LA Kings and
former Assistant Coach for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders
Mullen spent two seasons with the Riders and two seasons
as an assistant high school coach in Andover, MA. As a
player, Mullen skated in 149 games over four seasons at
Boston University, scoring 29 goals while helping the
Terriers to three NCAA tournament berths. The
Dorchester, Massachusetts, native served as team captain
as a senior in 2003-04 after being named Best Defensive
Forward in both Hockey East and all of New England
college hockey as a junior.
Mullen spent the 2004-05 season with the ECHL’s Pee Dee
Pride before retiring. He also played in the
2005 ECHL All-Star Game and was clocked as the fastest
skater at the ECHL All-Star Skills Competition.
Mullen has returned to the USHL for the first time since
playing for the Des Moines Buccaneers in 1999.

Chris Snavely, Head Coach |

|
Growing up in Lancaster, PA, Snavely currently plays
for the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL. Snavely played
four seasons at Michigan
State University,
winning the NCAA national championship his senior
year.
Prior to his collegiate
career, Snavely spent four years with the Cedar
Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL, where he holds the
Rapids’ franchise record for most career games
played (212).
Snavely was also a
member of the 1999 U.S. Under-18 Select Team that
won a silver medal at the Four Nations Cup in
Prague, Czech Republic.

Chad
grew up in Denver, CO and played for the Hyland Hills
Hockey Association his entire youth, playing on the top
Bantam and Midget teams. He was an Assistant
Captain for his Bantam team in 1999 and for his Midget
teams in 2000 and 2001. In 2000, he was part of
the team that was runner-up in the state playoffs.
Chad has been coaching hockey for over 10 years.
While in high school, he participated as an on-ice
instructor in the SKAKA I.C.E program, a local program
for under-privileged, at-risk youth. In 2002, he
coached the Adams City High School in-line hockey team
and led them to the playoffs in their inaugural season.
Since graduating from Coe College, Chad has coached at
the Squirt A, PeeWee AA and Bantam AA levels with the
Cedar Rapids Hockey Association. Currently, Chad
is the Head Coach of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders High
School team.

Marc played Junior A
hockey for 2 years in Michigan for
Bloomfield, Redford. He then
went on to play collegiate hockey at
Saint Mary's University in Minnesota
and stayed on to coach for SMU and
get his masters degree. Marc started
coaching in Detroit with Quient Riha
goalie school in 1985.
Marc and his wife, Amy, moved to
Ames, IA in 1997 when he started at
Iowa State University. In
1998, he took the head high school
coaching job in Ames. With two
kids in diapers, he resigned as HS
coach in 2002. In 2004, he
joined the Iowa State University
coaching staff as Associate Head
Coach for two seasons and has
assisted at various levels since.
In 2007, he joined the HS staff
again as an assistant coach.
In addition, Marc has coached his
son's Mite and Squirt teams in Ames.
Marc has also been a Regional USA
hockey coach's instructor since 2000
and has worked USA hockey select
campus in Ames since 2005. He
also serves as a regional and
district player evaluator for the
USA Hockey Select Program.

Michael, originally from
Fargo, ND played goalie growing up all the way through
high school winning a state championship his junior
year. He played for the Las Vegas Outlaws junior B
team and then moved back to Fargo. In Fargo,
Michael began coaching a Mite team and then moved up to
a Pee-Wee A team where they played top teams in
Minnesota. Michael went on to college a UND and
NDSU earning his degree before moving to Cedar Rapids.
He coached the Pee-Wee A team in Cedar Rapids for one
season and was invited to join the Cedar Rapids
RoughRiders high school hockey team as an
assistant/goalie coach. Besides playing organized
hockey for over 13 years and coaching for 3 seasons,
Michael has been to top level camps and skated against
several NHL players and top D1 prospects.

Brandon
grew up in Cedar Rapids, IA, played for the
Waterloo Warriors high school team and went on to play
Division III hockey for Gustavus Adolphus
College in St. Peter, MN.
